I've used Firefox on the wife's computer and on my home computer for the last couple of years. I've also used it here at my son's shop for the last year. I would recommend giving it a try. Works great, lots of add-ons available and frequently updated.

I kind of like the show too. But you know, that the premise is a bit thin. Why would a 400 year old guy be a cop? You'd think that by now he would have invested a little money (a few bucks here and there deposited into a savings account at an average of maybe 3% per year compounded over 400 years). ...

Wanderer,

Good luck, I'm sure all will go well though personally the thought of someone messing with one of my eyeballs gives me the shuddering willies.

Re: Walking around as a woman

as does a carbide tipped walking staff. Hmm- never thought of the trekking poles as protection before but it makes a lot of sense. Living here where suburbia merges into farmland, some of my neighbors are a bit lax about keeping control of their dogs. So, when the wife and I go for a stroll of a su...

When I first ran across Clarke and read Childhoods End in the late 50s, the old term "fired the imagination" understates my reaction at the time. I have been a lifelong fan since.

It's 9:30 pm and -9 F and crystal clear out here in Minnesota. The moon is almost entirely blood red. Very beautiful but it's hard to linger very long!

onewheeldave, I don't know if this helps but, in recent years here in the States, wines are increasingly corked with synthetic corks. These appear to be made out of a fairy dense and somewhat elastic plastic foam. I have used them on a couple of hobby projects and they cut/shape very nicely. Better ...

I've not been a frequent visitor to the board for a long while but I can't think of a better reason to post a note than to wish my friend Mack (and Byll too) the very best on their birthday(s).

May you both (and me too), continue to toot your tooters for a good many years to come.

Re: Like C & F, only greener, and dirtier

My Dear Old Dad (age 77) has been lurking here at Chiff & Fipple. He would like to join and participate in the conversations, but he has no interest in ITM! His hobby right now is gardening, expecially, growing strange varieties of hot peppers ........ Tell him to jump in here!!! As an aspiring...

I believe Mack is alive and well (at least he was when I talked to him the other day). Are you sure you have the right link for his email?

mackhoover@bresnan.net

He's usually very quick to respond. By the way, you won't be disappointed by his Whitecap. I have several.
