I have a Generation Bb nickel tube fitted with a Hoover Whitecap that is superb. Completely changes the character of the whistle (for the better). An inexpensive way of having a great Bb.

I have owned one of Mack Hoover's A whistles for a couple of years now. It's a Whitecap/Aluminum. It's the cat's pajamas for playing Ashokan Farewell. A very nice whistle.

Have you tried craigslist.org? There's a lot of pianos (including uprights) listed on the Minneapolis version of the page. There's got to be a craigslist near you.

Re: painting a car

I'm thinking about having my 1993 Toyota Corolla painted. I don't need a high end job, obviously. I just have no clue what the price range would be. help? Earl is a kind of volume car repainter in the Chicago area where I used to live. His "cheapo" paint jobs used to last a couple of year...

Hi Greg, One of our moderators, Nano, may know more than I do but, I don't know any music stores in the cities that carry any real inventory of whistles. The closest place that I know of that carries any kind of selection is Hobgoblin Music in Redwing and even their selection is pretty limited. I ha...

This is actually kind of an interesting subject. What I don't get however (not having ever studied music theory) is what practical use is it? How can I use this when I'm playing ITM or, for that matter other stuff on the whistle?
