Well done! Is the wood grain version the second picture in your post? I was curious what the difference between walnut and wood grain was.
Also, does the PLA infused with wood sound any different or does it sound just he same as the pure PLA?

Re: Which flute keys are the best keys?
I do think far more people like to play other genres of music with their simple system flutes than the hardcore ITM crowd talks about. Probably best not to start conversations at a session that could unwittingly encourage jazz style improv outbreaks mid set, plenty of session challenges as it is. I...

What about a padded soft case like this: https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Homeland-Security-Case-Black/dp/B07S982YWR/ref=sr_1_5?crid=QPLHXM7DS3SG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.w-dhrAIv6tYXmWkeqIAte085e0MwfClpzUDqKujLOVoxBhiWdeZt9SUrjXo7gAdRxeMaO79vXvZC9QRjB1T4khttEeEuBLvRcsLKQzRffizjMJFhF_ijqSrHKMiBNGdLwQQ6oHPluN8...

Never knew the man, but some of my favorite music has been played on instruments he made. He truly left a legacy behind. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Re: Delrin flute suggestions for 2024?
Very interested in what Thompson is doing I can let you know in 9 to 15 months. I have a 6 key for sure, but possibly an 8 key (if he gets that working with his unique mounts) on the way. I had a Baubet keyless and 5 key that were on the lighter side (partially lined headjoints), but I can't recall...

Re: Flute Weights Sticky
OK...I feel the need to improve the knowledge base on flute weights. One new flute, one antique for comparison (plus, they're the only 2 flutes I have these days). If only I'd weighed the small* treasure trove of flutes I've owned over the years! Henry Wylde 8 key - Rudall & Rose Medium Hole Sty...

Re: Which flute keys are the best keys?
Tom gives some great advice, but I would say 4 keys gets you 95% there...there are some runs up and down where you need that second Fnat key. 6 keys is great for most music...about 99% there. You can handle anything but the low C# or low C (although D rolls are great with that C# key) and just jump ...

Re: Wobbly embouchure due to sweating (and how to deal with it?)
I don't have that problem but two possible solutions spring to mind. If you're a guy and don't have one already, maybe grow a beard for a less slippery contact point under your lip? Or at least a soul patch. :D I have a beard, not a very full one but maybe enough under my lower lip that I haven't h...

Re: Delrin flute suggestions for 2024?
Loren...my Copley is on the heavier side because it does have a fully lined head joint/tuning slide, foot joint, and 8 keys. In retrospect, I would have asked for an unlined heajoint, which would have helped. I think my 8 key delrin Copley weighs close to 2 ounces more than my 8 key cocus Wylde. Dam...

Are you sure that puppy isn't tunable? Maybe try putting the head in hot water in a mug for a bit and twisting?
Those descriptions are pretty funny. Good to know it's not running.

Re: Carbony High D flute?
No experience with Carbonny's high D fife/flute, but I have a really nice Tipple High D flute/fife with Tipple-Fajardo Wedge that is cylindrical but a real nice player for folk music. Non-wooden options seem hard to find as are conical versions (but a reverse taper headjoint or wedge takes care of t...

That was me...there is something weird with the board not liking what I want to post when I tried to edit it. Tried PM'ing and that didn't work, either. Maybe you can PM me and I can PM you back?
Ha...copying to an email and cutting and pasting from the email seemed to have worked. Weird.
