Bagpiper case for sale

I purchased the Bagpiper case a few months back from a pipe-maker in Co. Donegal and now I'd like to sell it. It's a fabulous case and can fit two full sets of uilleann pipes along with one bellows and extra stuff. The size is deceptive because it doesn't appear that large but it can hold what I nee...

Re: Realta

I was fortunate to see and listen to Réalta at the William Kennedy International Piping Festival this year, 2012. The band was fabulous and the music was very tasteful and enjoyable to listen to. I definitely recommend their CD.

Ádh mór,
Jonathan

Re: Caidé mar atá sibh?

So may I intrude and ask (in English :) ) how much difficulty there has been in this happenstance conversation idir Gaeilge agus Gàidhlig ? It would seem as if none at all, at least on a basic level. Not meaning to derail, but this is very interesting to me. And I imagine that mutual comprehension ...

Haighea, Go breá! Bhí mo bhean agus mise inár gcónaí i Sunderland cúpla bliain ó shin -- ar an bhóthar 47. Nach bhfuil an Muileann an Leabhair go hiontach ar fad? Tá ár dteach chóir a bheith 20 bomaite siúlóid faoin tuaithe. Beidh muid ar ais i mí Lúnasa nuair a bheas muid críochnaithe leis an chéim...

Northampton? Go breá. Bhí mé i mo chónaí ansin cúpla bliain ó shin. Tá teach againn i Montague anois ach tá aithne mhaith agam ar Northampton. Bhí mo bhean ag obair ansin ar feadh blianta.

Ádh mór,
Seanachán

Re: Caidé mar atá sibh?

Tá a fhios agam cá háit a bhfuil Haverhill ach cha raibh mé ansin le fada, b'fhéidir ó 1995. Cá háit a bhfuil tú féin?

travelling to Lodi, CA/San Fran

Good morning,

My fiddler-wife and I will be travelling to visit relatives in Lodi, California for 20-25 April. We'll also visit San Francisco and the surrounding area. Are there some suggestions for music in the region?

All the best,
Jonathan

Re: case for two sets!

If you're avoiding gun cases, then that probably limits your options. Either find a sufficiently big instrument case for another instrument (double sax case?) and gut it out. Alternatively, get a flight case made to measure. I was quoted CA$350 for a made-to-measure fight case 30"x12"x6&q...

Re: case for two sets!

You've posted some valid points. I'm going to stay away from any gun cases purely because I don't want any more trouble than necessary at the airports. I know people who've been pulled aside into the *special room* largely because they were carrying a gun case. Currently, I do carry my full C set wi...

PJ,

I would need to house both sets in the same case for travelling purposes. I'm a flat-piper by heart but often need to have D-material handy for Those Other Musicians. Har har.

Best,
Jonathan

case for two sets!

Hello! I've been searching through old posts here on the Uilleann Pipes forum about pipes-cases and have come across some interesting ideas. I currently have a [absolutely fantastic] full set in C that fits well in the [mountain dulcimer] case that came with the instrument. At some point in the futu...

Pop goes the strap

Upon reflection, I feel rather embarrassed that I posted my popping-strap post. Perhaps I'm that ignorant regarding leather and what to "call" it when I ask an informed person. I seem to have exhausted the very few local leather suppliers, hence my post.
