Why don't you get a regular sop sax? They work, you know, and a used one isn't so dear... They're much more ergonomic than a Xaphoon, and blow easier too: they use a true soprano reed, not the overbore baritone-like chamber and tenor cane... Just forget all the saxophone accidental keys, just use th...

I ruined a low whistle once, and learnt my lesson: thumb rests and neck slings are safer! Also, since they releave the fear of dropping the whistle, I believe they may improve one's playing. I don't like the clip-on thumbrests made for swhistles/recorders by Aulos (and marketed by Susato in the US, ...

Re: OT - Time for a Break
Since I really want to get the next stage of my software project finished before then, I'm going to have to take a break from distractions, including C&F, which is one of the major ones. Freeform db, OS 9, and I missed it? Then find it here in C&F ? Please excuse me, I'll be off C&F for...

That's a pretty reputable shop, and the price seemed reasonable. I can't imagine something like that could ever play in tune, though. :) Pretty reputable brand, before anything. A real Buffet-Crampon ! I can imagine these masters of Boehm-system clarinets DID tune it. Now, to what pitchfork remains...

COLOGNE, MY FOOT!
Jarrett ? Most famous player they ever had in Cologne. True, FC "Fortuna" Köln was broke, so they couldn't afford Beckenbauer. Nor J-L Lewis. * Who only remembers? I recently visited Köln, so I asked for their famous "Jarrett de Cologne". Well? I got a Schweine-Achse -- instead o...
