Re: John Sindt Current Contact Information
FWIW, I sent a message about a C whistle to that address on November 27th and have yet to hear back. Which is probably just as well. I heard back from John today. I told him to go ahead and put me down on his list for a standard traditional D brass whistle (the one people most often get). I tried t...

Re: Cleaning Brush
Forgive me, maybe I'm not understanding, but would I still need a pill case with wet sponge with the recommended humidifier too? It looks like the humidifier that was recommended will need water in it... Would that not provide moisture in the case without the need for the pill case? I'm sure I'm mi...

Re: Cleaning Brush
Keep humidified, ie: in a solid (not soft) case with a small humidifier, such as a Humistat #1 (https://www.humistat.com/products/ ). Add a 3M or Hagerty anti-sulfur/tarnish strip to deter tarnish on the silver fittings. I do have an African Blackwood Abell in D. What hard case would you recommend ...

Re: Cleaning Brush
I do have an Abell whistle I got back in October. How often should I oil it? https://www.abellflute.com/care_and_maintenance/ For blackwood, I'd follow the recommendations for swabbing out, and limit oiling to 1-2x/year. Keep humidified, ie: in a solid (not soft) case with a small humidifier, such ...

Re: Cleaning Brush
To answer the question: if it fits as a swab in a whistle tube it can come in handy for drying. If your Abell needs oiling at some point it could also be of use there. I wouldn't use a swab with the mouthpiece still attached to the whistle tube since it can bump around and do accidental damage. I a...

I'm posting new threads like crazy as of late! You are. Perhaps a t-shirt purchase recommendation, if you don't mind? :D https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fclothzee.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2018%2F09%2FHold-On-Let-Me-Overthink-This-T-Shirt.jpg&f=1&nofb=1 Serious...

Cleaning Brush
I'm posting new threads like crazy as of late! I got a cleaning brush with my Pinegrove Leather roll about a year ago. What are they good for in regards to the whistle and which Whistle material (brass, aluminium, PVC, etc) can I use it with and not damage the whistle tube or head? I've only used it...

Re: John Sindt Current Contact Information
Okay. Maybe I should email once a month until I get a response? I would like to get ahold of a Sindt before he quits making them.Mr.Gumby wrote:FWIW, I sent a message about a C whistle to that address on November 27th and have yet to hear back. Which is probably just as well.

Re: Water Weasel confirmation
For my part I am convinced of the whistle's veracity, so when I said, "If it's a forgery (etc.)," that was a rhetorical statement acknowledging the OP's misgivings. It has nothing to do with any real doubt on my part. Never doubted it, Nano... so intended my reply as a general comment abo...

Re: John Sindt Current Contact Information
That was me misinforming the world with the plural. It is sindtwhistle@aol.com Sorry I added to the confusion. I should go back to that other post and correct my post. Glad you noticed this! Oh okay. I sent an email this morning to sindtwhistle@aol.com and it went through, but no response yet.

Re: Water Weasel confirmation
So just for clarification, you think it is a real Water Weasel because it does have markings that someone purposely tried to remove, which you say was often done? I guess markings at all would also indicate it being real. And also you say it is real because the logo dirt indicates use over time tha...
