Web-site

Hello again

I have just got off the phone with my host servers, their Apache server was down due to a broken link in the London Docklands area recently.

My web-site should be back on line very shortly.

Thanks

Davy.

Update

Dear Pipers After reading the latest news concerning my name, I feel that I can no longer sit by and take it in the jaw as they say, what I will say is. I am now back in cyber circulation from a spell of illness, which most of my customers know about, this had put things well and truly in the back s...

Hevia

I have the album by the Spanish group Hevia, called No Man's Land, this is a modern version of some old Spanish mountain music with Giata pipes and a set of electronic pipes played by the band leader. There is some very fancy fast playing in there, which is a breath of fresh air for bagpipes in gene...

Just temperence

Hi Tony has hit the nail on the head here, an instrument which is designed with Just temperence or Monophonicaly tuned is indeed designed to be played to blend against a set of drones. I would like to point out that most modern tuning meters are designed for tuning the many modern instruments found ...

Practice set kits

Dionys wrote Perhaps he stamps the bellows he makes himself, and leaves the ones that are to be finished by the purchaser unstamped. Or if he doesn't, perhaps that would be a good way to keep track. Thats right, I put a date and serial No. inside the bellows and somewhere else on all set/parts, but ...

kits issue

Rick wrote Is there any guarantee on those kits or screw it up and it's too bad? What if they have problems putting it together/getting it to work/in tune? I can say, I only gaurantee my own work and that the chanters here mentioned are already reeded and in tune, its the rest of the set that is in...

Plastic memory

Plastic Memory One of the problems I have has with styrene type plastics is, the more you try to shape them, they always wants to go back to their original shape, IE flat and do this over a period of time unnoticed until the reed goes off song. I found out if you take a yoghurt catron and place it i...

Ivory test

You can also tell if the ball is Ivoy by rolling it on a table or the floor and seeing if it has gone oval, if its old and still perfectly ball round it more than likely a compo ball, also if inspected carefuly you will see a small black pin dot where the nearve centre of the tusk once lay.
