did i mention that if you are interested in pipes, you will get to try, handle, play, and mess with a greater assortment of such than can be found anywhere else?

The Pipers Gathering is a whistle gathering is disguise....

Well, not really, but it might as well be. The piper's gathering is a yearly 3 day tionol for pipes other than GHB. There are alot of good sessions at which whistlers are welcome. There are retail vendors who have lots of nice whistles, books, and CDs. There are usually a couple of whistle makers th...

i gave no ordering instructions for my 3 piece low D and it came out amazing. not hard to play at all, from the bell note into the third octave. an awesome instrument. just tell him what you told us.

the hoover, if you are not familiar, is very sweet but takes very little air compared to whistles you are familiar with. extremely easy second octave. i strongly suggest that if you do it, you send mr. hoover the tube, rather than just ordering the whitcap and putting it on yourself. if macke does n...

after i posted, i realized i did not directly answer your question about bad habits: 1. sitting slumped in the chair 2. not closing the chanter completely, esp with the right hand. 3. not having a good pipers grip. if you are like most, 2 fingertips should be covering holes, all the rest should be t...

welcome. i have been playing for a year and have stumbled many times. when you first pick up the chanter to play, seal the holes with as relaxed a grip as you can manage, and blow the chanter. you should of course, with the chanter on your leg, hear nothing. let your body absorb this grip. this is p...

i recently got my whitecap. of all my whistles, it is tied for #1 with the burke- burke for louder sound and for sessions, whitecap when i want it quieter. i am primarily learning pipes and not whistle. my breath control is the crappiest on earth. i have no difficulty at all with the whitecap- i jus...

come on, we all know davey- he is a nice guy and not a cheater, and certainly did not intend to be so in this auction. my guess is that if he knew how much discussion this would trigger, he would have done it differently. after all, if the goal is to get as much money as possible, the e-bay auction ...

1. you are all over the place with your suspicions of what is wrong. if its the circulation it is not a disc, and visa versa. 2. there should be lots of doctors who do not look at you funny becuase you play the pipes. that is what occupational medicine is all about. 3. feldenkries will not hurt. try...

i have to admit, i looked at the number on my recently acquired whitecap, and said to myself, "yeah, right, 20 whistles a month, he would have to be like 86 years old :) thanks for clarifying. although, this will confuse collectors in years to come. maybe the numbers you go back to should have ...
