Hi Kevin, I understand what you're going through, IMO, don't set yourself too strict a regime, it's supposed to be enjoyable, you can't force it. The 1st 3 things I was taught were 1. to be able to hold a steady note. 2. to play a 1st octave scale closing the chanter between notes, untill I could pl...

Re: Flute from France on Ebay

The seller probably knows little about flutes or he wouldn't have said made of ebony when it's probably not ebony. I wouldn't trust him. Regarding the flute being made from ebony, if the seller is from France he would probably refer to a flute made from what we would call "African Blackwood&qu...

Boyd, I use a Sony MZ R909 and a Sony ECM-MS907 mic. It's about a year old now. The mic cost almost as much as the recorder. About "digital in", as far as I know that only applies if you use an Optical cable to link the Mini Disc to your CD player to transfer CD's to MD's. I use mine to re...

Kevin, well said, I've never had a problem contacting Davy, or getting a reply. Of course I don't go around phoning, e-mailing etc, etc every 5 mins. How the hell do people expect a maker to get anything done if they keep wasting his time asking stupid questions? :x I hope to get my 1/2 set around t...

Hi Kevin,
great news, it is difficult at the start but at least you've got a good set to start with. Do you think you'll get some pics up? I'd be interested to see the style of the chanter, holly looks really well with dark wood trim. Hope you enjoy them. :)

No it doesn't, which makes sense if you know what I mean. You've probably seen this before, have a reminder and a laugh, :D

Hi, happened again today with me, this time I only cleared Temp Int and Cookies. When I reconnected it was fine. I wonder if it has anything to do with the server your ISP connects you to, assuming they have more than one? Cheers, Mac p.s. I'd like to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas/Holiday :pa...

Hi Loren,
I had that problem yesterday or the day before, as you say the forum would load but it didn't show Avatars, New Posts etc. I cleared History, Temp Int and Cookies, it's been fine since.
