Re: seeking online lowland pipe music

If you are a member of the LBPS then you can download 'The Blue Book' as a PDF free from their website, you will need to log in first though

There is also 'Tune of the Month' available from the same website plus various links to manuscripts.

My Prowse was cracked in a similar manner and Jem did a great repair job on it.

Re: Help with John McSherry's solos

There's a dots only transcription on The Session under Galway Girl, you'll have to work out the ornamentation yourself.

Can't say how accurate it is though.

Best wishes for 2014

Re: Central London (UK) pipers gathering

Hello Sean
Are you thinking to start a regular meeting?

What is parking like there?

I would be interested in coming along when I have time although I am only a beginner.
The Twickenham meeting is just a shade too far for me.

Are there any pipers who meet out Essex way?

Re: Copley & Boegli Low C Flute

Good to hear to hear you like your C flute, I needed a C to make it easier for me to play along with a set of Northumbrian pipes so I ordered a D & C combination in blackwood direct from them.

Re: Need advice for paying for/shipping pipes

Hello Sam I use a firm called Transglobal Express. You will need the weight of your parcel plus dimensions and address to get a quote. Once you've entered all the relevant details they will give you a list of well known couriers and prices, they are very cheap. I was sceptical at first due to the pr...

Re: Reed binding

Hi
A few other suppliers of thread in the UK are Fox UK, Dawkes & Howarths..

In the past I have used Marlow Yachting/Whipping twine, no.4 or no.8 I believe off hand.
Although there aren't the range of colours compared to normal thread.

Should be quite nice 'Out on the Ocean' amongst 'The Rolling Waves'.

Seriously though, I wish him luck and hope he'll be happy.

Re: Since we're on the subject of who owns what

I have a full set in D by Charles Roberts that I bought from a board member. Not too keen on the chanter but I have two other chanters one by Sam Lawrence and a Williams, I really like both chanters. I'm using bellows by Simon Hope and a bag from Jackie Boyce. I'm never going to be a good player and...
